a note to prospective students

A humble verse instead of introduction
Would be a breeze I thought. And I was sold
On the scheme of getting online action
With a promo sonnet. But I was trolled
By thoughts of what to say that prolonged it
Into chaos that felt almost chronic.
The sonnet that I wanted seemed disguised;
The iambs weren't horribly compromised!
And readers would seek the sign-up button...
But here it is. This is what I have got.
I hope you're convinced to give it a shot.
Perhaps, like me, you'll turn into a glutton
Of expressing the contents of your mind
In an Onegin Stanza. What a find!
